But are they?
Let's go back to the time where we began. Where we thought our world might have turned upside down. The sky was bright, and the chimes of the clock tower, where the Volturi resided, were sounding. A man...no...a vampire was standing right in the shadows, ready to take the leap of faith and end his life. A human crashed into him, stopping him. The Volturi who had been ready to murder this vampire faltered in their movements, and slowly slunk forward, trying to now speak peacefully with the now back-down-to-Earth vampire.
We watched from the shadows that day. They were so engrossed in keeping our secret safe...and now, they're interested in that human girl. They have no idea what is about to happen while their infatuation with the Cullen's takes them on a ride.
We are known as liberators...Patriots you could say. We want freedom. We wish for no more royal family to control how we can live our lives on this Earth. This is not a dictatorship. This is a Republic. Yet, they don't know that yet. We want the choice. We want to live with humans. We want them to know about us. Maybe the shapeshifters too, because they are also in on this.
We are growing in size more and more to this day, and we know that one day, we can take them down. That we will take them down. We will earn our freedom from Italy...just like the United States earned their freedom from Great Britain. Every superpower must fall.
And that time is now!
