* AELLA andraste AGRONA !
[/size]Full Name: Aella Andraste Agrona
Nicknames:Windy
Codename: Raptor
Age: 14 Years
Gender: Female
Birthday: February 12
Species: Mutant
Orientation: Undetermined
Status: Single
Face Claim: Katie Leung
Student/Professor/Occupation: Runaway, Student-age
Which side are you on?: Neutral so far, inherent sense of good. Very likely to join Xavier's School.
Abilities:
- Natural flight via wings at up to 200 mph (nowhere near that yet – she needs more practice)
- Able to breathe in thin air thanks to air sacs alongside lungs
- Raptor vision
- Fingernails can grow and curve into raptor-like claws when needed or when left un-trimmed, or in an adrenaline rush
- Powerful grip
Ability Limits: Thin bones to allow flight are broken more easily than regular bones, unable to swim, currently has minimal flying endurance, back is hyper-sensitive to touch. Her immune system is more on the “poor side” than average so if she gets too cold in thin air she could potentially suffer from hypothermia.
Character:Original
Eyes: Amber, almond shaped
Hair: Black, often left down, but sometimes pulled back in a high ponytail
Body Type: Slim, slightly muscled
Weight: 80 pounds
Height: 5 feet 5 inches
Flaws: Wings that have become increasingly difficult to hide as they’ve grown larger for the past four years. Also, her nails are a permanent, glossy black as though she consistently paints them.
Favorite: The glossy, onyx black sheen that both her feathers and hair share, alongside her bright amber eyes.
GENERAL APPEARANCE---
Being half-French, half-Japanese, Aella has a fair complexion. Her eyes are a unique amber color, and almond-shaped, slightly up-turned at the ends like a typical Asian eye-shape. Her build is rather slight. Though she stands at 5'5", she weighs only 80 pounds. Her light weight comes from having thin, close-to-hollow bones brought on by her mutation. She is not very well-endowed, but holds a noticeable waist, which has come about recently because of her rationing of any semi-meals she eats. Her hair is a glossy, onyx black and falls to her mid-back. As part of her mutation, her nails have grown to be a permanent, glossy black. Her hair is the same color as her wings, which have grown straight from the middle of her back. The wings make her back obviously abnormally shaped, as most often seen when she stretches her trench coat over them. Extended, her black wings have a twelve-foot span, although she has only extended her wings a few times. They are also still growing, and will finish at a thirteen-foot span. Otherwise, she has tried hiding them. She has only tried flying a couple of times since the wings most recently grew large enough for her to fly. She has only managed to stay in the air - after jumping from a building - for about a minute, hovering, before loosing rhythm and falling to the ground.
Wardrobe: Aella has neither the time nor the money to stand around looking for a certain article of clothing, or further staring at herself in the mirror displaying something. Currently, she wears a large button-up shirt, a pair of jeans, and a large trench coat that falls to her mid-calf. The coat is stretched over her wings and back. Due to the material the coat is made out of, it is obvious to see that it doesn’t lay normally on her back, most people either remain curious about why it looks like such or jump to the conclusion that her back is mis-shapen. On her feet she wears a pair of black combat boots, and she has a pair of black leather gloves to wear.

GENERAL PERSONALITY---
- KIND/BENEVOLENT :: Despite her current living condition(s), she tries to stay positive, and hold at least the ghost of a smile on her face when she talks to people for one reason or another. Though she rarely has someone that gets on her bad side, there are a few, and she will still respect them, and not seek out to degrade them morally or esteem-wise in any way. She believes that all people are equal, and that all people are born with an innate humanitarian sense. Despite her kindness and seemingly openness to people, she is currently shy and afraid of others, fearing they will have negative reactions to her – like her parents did – if they find out about her abilities.
- LEVEL-HEADED/REASONABLE :: Ever since she was young, Aella has always kept her wits and self about her, even in stressful situations. It was odd for someone at her age to be so self-composed and sensible. There are few things in the world that are capable of getting on her nerves. Though she keeps her temper about her when an uncomfortable discussion makes itself present, she will quickly deliver a smiley, get-out-of-there sort of phrase to try to keep the peace. Although she is able to keep control of her temper, if the right buttons are pressed she will forgo the ‘polite’ route completely and most likely viciously claw at whomever provoked her.
- CALM/PATIENT :: When dealing with problems, Aella tries to maintain a calm and professional manner, and seems to always be focused more on achieving the best solution rather than just "getting out of the fray" if necessary. She is patient to the extent that some consider it 'abnormal'. Because of how long she is willing to wait for something worth waiting for, she has been chided in the past. She doesnt know exactly why she is so unnerved by people with annoying or pointless arguments, or those that are outright rash in their actions...people who would give anyone else a giant headache.

GENERAL HISTORY---
Born in the United States Virgin Islands on February 12th, Aella - a Greek name for "Whirlwind" led a fairly normal life for the first decade were alive. Her parents' careers left them quite busy, although they were always sure to try to make time to be with her. they were proud of her, because she had proved to be of intellectual talent from a young age. They expected more and more from her, "nothing short of perfection" as her mother said at one point. She strove - albeit in only the beginning years of school - to be the best, and her efforts paid off.
At the age of ten, however, things began to change. Spurred by the death of her best friend by a terminal illness, the 'mutant' gene in her body activated. The first thing she noticed was a drastic change in her vision. Originally she needed glasses, seeing as the books she loved had made her near-sighted. However, this was the first thing to change. The next, though more subtle, change was the darkening and hardening of her nails. If she left them untrimmed, they grew long, thin, and curved. Her mother, fearful, filed them down constantly, sometimes until her skin bled. The most obvious change (of those that could be noticed easily) were the growth of her wings. They started growing when she was ten years and six months old.
Her parents first noticed them, no more than lumps of bony growth under her skin on her back. Her father immediately took her into surgery to remove the foreign growths. They thought it worked until they began growing again. Desperate to keep her parents happy, the young Aella - known as 'Windy' by few - locked herself in the bathroom of a hardware store, where she had used an iron rasp to try to file them off. This, too, proved ineffective. Her parents, unhappy, pulled Aella out of school and hired a private tutor/guardian to teach her and be with her, as they distanced themselves the more her wings grew. After three and a half years of this, Aella decided they would be better off without her, and she ran away from home.
She remains on the run today, trying to fend for herself and survive, remaining fearful and feeling as though she's isolated from society.

ROLEPLAY SAMPLE---It was about six thirty in the morning...about the time most of the small town would probably be waking up. However, Aella was wide awake at the time. She had woken up about fifteen minutes ago - she could be an early riser when she wanted to be (and more often when she didnt want to be). Today was one of the days she didnt really want to have woken up early. The sky was clear, and the only clouds in sight were thin and wispy, letting the sun shine down to the ground in all its radiance. Aella walked carefully through the wet grass on the East side of the grounds until she reached a small, open expanse of grass and a few scattered trees. This was 'her spot' as she liked to call it. She knew it wasn't actually hers, but, at times in the early morning like this, it felt like it.
A small breeze interrupted the serene quiet of the morning by rustling the leaves on the trees. It made her shiver as the cool air rushed across the back of her neck, picking her hair up and lifting it easily into the air. The morning was brisk, but beautiful. The silence that was settled over the area was more than enough to make up for the slight chill. She pulled the collar of her trench coat up a bit, flipping it over to stand straight and protect her skin. She wanted to be alone, but at the same time she wanted to see somebody...anybody. her gloved hands clenched into fists slightly as she stuffed them in her pockets.
She was tired of living in fear, even though she had only been doing so for a short amount of time. It had been what, a couple of months? She missed her home. As much as they'd treated her like an alien and a total freak, she missed her parents. She missed Nelana, who had been gone for four years already. She didnt want to stay as she was. But, she knew that only she had the power to change that.
Aella blinked and opened her eyes. That dream she'd had was peaceful and calm...a bit of a contrast from how she was currently living. She wished that her life could reflect that. But no...she was on the run. She had begun to head West, following whispered rumors she'd heard...talking about a school for the gifted. Once or twice she could swear that someone had said 'special' people. She had no idea where to go, though, but until she found the supposed 'school', or even so much as confirmed that the rumors were true, she was on her own.
Pulling her knees up to her chest, she locked her arms around her legs and curved her neck downwards, resting her eyes against her knees. She frowned somewhat and tried to get back to sleep, suppressing the urge to cry out of her loneliness.
