Remy arrived home with bags of freshly cooked food he had gotten from a fancy restaurant on his way home. It was simple really, all he had to do was tell the lady he was hungry, homeless and had three kids to feed and she piled on bags of freshly cooked food for him!
He opened the bags and containers to see three steaks, complete with potatoes and steamed vegetables, even the salads were the most beautiful thing he'd seen. He quickly plated the meals and threw the bags and boxes away he had to make it look as though he had made all this. Yeah he could cook, but he was trying to impress Rogue so he wasn't taking any chances.
He had gotten some extra food and put it away for Tatiana whenever she came home from wherever she was and placed what he had for himself and his date on the small table after fixing it up a bit. He then ran through the small room they called a kitchen and cleaned it up, as well as the rest of the place... Well, as clean as you could get an old warehouse.. Yeah, this was just pathetic, he should have just taken her out but he was trying to be polite and figured privacy was better than a place full of people.
He had even made an attempt to dress up, new jeans and a nice black tee shirt. Sure it wasn't amazingly fancy but hell he'd met her at a mall surly she didn't expect diamonds... Those came later.

Rogue couldn't quite believe this was happening. She was stood in her room at the institute wondering what to wear for a date. Besides the various times her and Cody had hung out, this would practically be her first date. She had fought in battles so many times. Faced the death of other people, one at her hands almost, and yet she could not remember a time she felt more nervous, self concious or excited. She could actually feel butterflies in her stomach like it was often told girls felt. Remy was definately doing a real number on her. Inhaling deeply Rogue forced herself to calm down before looking through her wardrobe of clothes. Eventually she picked out a long trumpet sleeved emerald green knee length dress. It gathered beneath the bust with an intricate gold detailing that looked a lot like a belt, before flowing loosely beneath the belt-look-a-like. The dress had a simple rectangle neckline, with gold detailing that mirrored the belt portion. She put on a pair of black leggings, putting on a fresh pair of black knee length leather boots, and a pair of wrist length black gloves. Running a hand through her hair she decided to leave it down before gathering her simple black purse which held everything she needed inside it.
Rogue borrowed the red mustang once more, driving to the address of the warehouse Remy had given. She had to admit she was extemely nervous. She couldn't help but wonder if he had given her an address and she'd turn up to find it was just an empty abandoned warehouse. Of course deep down she knew he wasn't like that but nothing good had ever happened to her life. Any time it got anywhere near good it was always ripped from her. It felt so odd for something so good and pure to be in her life. Plus, an jaw dropping sexy and genuinely nice guy was interested in her. Her. Pulling up outside the warehouse she turned off the engine before getting out. Quietly she padded over to what she assumed was the front door before knocking.
This was it.

Remy jumped at the knock on the door then quickly ran to answer he was nervous and even feeling these new emotions added to the nerves. He wasn't sure what to expect he had never been on a real date that didn't involve him trying to steal from the woman. This time he actually meant good and wondered what would come of the new deed
"Wow!" He said as soon as he opened the door to greet her "ya make me look like I'm wearin' dirt" he said taking her hand and gently pulling her in. "Ya look wonderful... The most beautiful thing to ever come in this dump" he said again leading her to the kitchen.
He had the small table set up with the dinner and a candle he figured that would be romantic enough. He pulled a chair out for her "made it mahself" he said with a smile. Sure he didn't. But she didn't need to know that anyway. Food was food right?

Rogue found herself blushing deeply at all of Remy's compliments. She followed him willingly, looking around herself as he led her through his home. It almost felt like a dream to her to be here with Remy on an actual date. Looking Remy over she found him looking as sexy as ever. The shirt practically clung to his flawless muscles and she found this deep desire to touch them to make sure they were real. She also found that she rather liked following him. She could watch that backside of his all day. Definately drool worthy. Perhaps having his memories wouldn't be so bad after all. Especially if there happened to be some scenes with him being wet that ended up entering her dreams. Forcing herself out of her rather delicious thoughts she found herself looking at a beautifully set table. She blushed as Remy held her chair out, and shyly sat down on it before looking up at him. Why on earth was he with her? He was so perfect... She just didn't understand it.
"Thankyou, for everything."
She spoke softly, genuine emotion showing in her chocolate brown eyes. She then looked at the food and smiled. The food did look delicious. It smelt just as good too. Somehow she felt rather comfortable in Remy's home. It just seemed to suit him somehow, and besides, she wasn't one for fancy restaurants. Even if there weren't crowds she wasn't a fan of pretencious places and even smaller food. She'd much rather be somewhere like the Outback Steak House where everyone was real, normal, and not putting on fake pretenses.
"This looks delicious."
Rogue murmurred.

It only made things better that she didn't seem bothered by the state of the house, sure it wasn't exactly a house.. But they had worked rather hard to make it at least feel like a home. He sat across from her and couldn't help but stare. He knew it was rude but her eyes just demanded her attention, if he even tried to look away the shine from her hair would bring his gaze back and her beauty would keep him there. It was also quite wonderful she had a great personality too. She was basiclly flawless!
"Ah should be thankin' you. Never had anyone here... It's nice feelin' normal" he said with a small smile picking at his salad. He wasn't really interested in the food but her comment about it brought his attention to it. "Oh, yeah thanks.. It um, was jus' somethin' ah threw together"
He watched a moment long before forcing himself to look away. He didn't want to seem rude of course "so.. It kinda doesn't seem fair ya know.. Ya know everythin' 'bout me now" he said tapping the side of his head. "Ah don't know much 'bout you.. An'thin' you'd liketa share?" He asked with a smile.

Rogue raised her eyebrow briefly at Remy's response to her compliment on the food. She decided to let it go however. After all the food was delicious and she was on a date with an adonis. Details weren't really all that important at this point. She did notice however he was barely eating, and frowned. Concerned she reached a gloved hand out to touch his gently.
"Whats wrong? Why aren't ya eating?"
She asked softly, hoping she hadn't done anything wrong. What could she have done though that would put him off his food? Biting her bottom lip she pulled her hand back and took another few bites of her food before responding to his question about things about herself.
"Um... Ah ran away from my family as a kid, found out they weren't my real parents, after that Mystique found meh and took me in. Made me feel like her own daughter, it was nice, for a while. Ah met Cody... He made meh feel like just any other teenage girl. When we kissed though... Meh ability kicked in for the first time. He was in a coma the last ah heard. Devasted meh... Mystique used it to her advantage. Manipulated meh. Ah became part of the brotherhood, did bad things. Worst thing though... ah almost killed a woman of my own accord. Took her abilities permenantly. She only survived 'cos there was someone near by he could get to her fast enough. The psyches... ah got insane for a while. Ah ran into Xavier and he helped meh. Became an Xmen against everyone elses desires. They all threatened to quit. The only let meh stick around 'cos ah saved one of their lives. Been felt alone, shunned, and like a plague for all meh life. Kinda wonder who my parents really are and why they just let meh go."

Remy listened intently feeling bothered at the mentioned names, who would ever leave her behind? Who would dare manipulate her and who the hell thinks they can just make her feel shunned. He would have asked for a list of names and gone on a killing spree but that would just be bad table manners and anyway he was sure it would make an awkward impression to go and kill every person that had ever given her a bad memory to dwell back on. Sure if she wanted he would. But starting off a date that way well.. Maybe not.
He sat back in his chair once she had finished "well ah can say you're now around people who know how that feels" He and Tatiana hadn't known their real families either and while Tatiana never had a weird upbringing, well no weirder than being raised by a crazy thief. He could somewhat relate. The captive feeling, both metaphorical and lifelike in eachothers past made him cringe at his own memories.
Then he stopped and looked back at her "Xmen huh?" He said a sinking feeling taking over. Great. The one woman he ever felt real feelings for is a human loving xmen. He had always been considered wrong by them. He worried it was only a matter of time before she felt the same. "Seems lika crappy place" he mumbled quietly.

"Ah dunno. Ah mean, the institute is a lot better then the Brotherhood. It seems more... honest. Like they won't manipulate meh for whatever end they have like the Brotherhood did. Xavier is nice. Ah mean he helped me, stuck up for me, and gave meh a roof over meh head when ah had no one and against all his friends and family. Ah... ah owe him. Ah've never found a place ah belong though. As nice as Xavier is, and how much ah owe him, as well as how much good ah do as an Xmen, deep down ah know ah don't belong there. Ah know no one wants me there. Not really. Its a lot better then the streets or the Brotherhood, thats for sure."
Rogue confessed, telling him the truth as she felt it. The Xmen were good people. Xavier is a great man. They did good, but Rogue had never felt quite at home there. Then again, she had never felt at home anywhere before. The most comfortable she felt in any place was here with Remy, and the few times she had been in Xavier's presence. The two men had unknowingly accepted her exactly for who and what she is. They hadn't judged her. They were nice to her despite knowing what she had done and what she could do. To her, Xavier would always be the father she should have had, whilst Remy... If nothing else came of their time together she hoped at least he would be a good if not best friend in her life. Of course she secretly hoped he would end up being more. Finishing her meal she smiled over at him softly.
"It is a good place for mutants, both young and old, who need help to control and understand their powers."

Remy might have heard the bags fall to the floor if he hadn't been so wrapped around Rogue and every word she spoke. Everything else just faded off into nothing. Nothing else really mattered to him at the moment. She was the only sight and the only sound he cared to be surrounded in. He did however hear his name called. He sat up a little and his heart sped oh no. He had completely forgotten to even mention Tatiana to Rogue or even Rogue to Tatiana who he didn't expect to even be home anytime soon.
"Um.." Remy was about to try to explain but before he could Tatiana loudly entered the room. She could have came in without a sound and it still would have been the loudest entrance in the history of entrances. He caught her expression and quickly felt ill. This was just insane! He had faced death before! How could women make him feel this nervous. Ugh!
"Tatiana! This is Rogue.. She's my date.." He said quickly smiling at Rogue before giving Tatiana a worried expression hoping she might understand but knowing she probably wouldn't. Not now anyway.
"And Rogue" he said returning his attention to the poor girl at the table "this is my.. Friend, and um housemate?" He tried. Biting his own lip as he placed his gaze on the table in front of him. Suddenly finding it very interesting.

Rogue's gaze darted to the doorway as she heard a female call Remy's name. As much as she wanted to believe nothing wrong was going on, Rogue's insecurities screamed differently. She looked over the young blonde, biting her bottom lip as she did so. The female was definately stunning, and could be touched. Clearly she was also close to Remy since she had a key to the place. She was a little relieved when Remy introduced her as his date. However, his introduction of the blonde was poor at best. She could sense his hesitation and could only come up with one conclusion: she was his girlfriend, fiance, or wife. She should have known he was too good to be true. He could have anyone in the world. Why would he settle for her? She sighed deeply. This must be just a challenge to him. Running a hand through her hair, she had no idea how to deal with this situation. She never thought she'd date or have a boyfriend, let alone somehow be the other woman. Frowning, she stood and turned to the blonde with an apologetic look.
"Ahm sorry... Ah didn't know he was, uh, taken. Ah mean, ah asked but... Ahm sorry. If its any consolation, ah can't touch due to my mutant power. Not without putting anyone into a coma or death... So ya don't have any competition or whatever..."
Rogue explained, hating the fact this also happened to be her first date and she really was smitten with Remy.

Remy stared between the two girls, yes he had expected a little awkward but certainly not this. This was just insane, if he could have stopped time long enough to go out, get a drink and think this over he would have and loved it! Hell he would have been happy to stop time long enough to even exhale the breathe he only just noticed he had been holding. He wondered if just walking away would help or worsen the situation? Either way he couldn't leave Tawny on the floor like she was, looking so hurt and pathetic. He wanted to help, he wanted to hug her and apologize, it had been drilled into his brain that any time she seemed upset or hurt he had to fix, if not kill and destroy the cause of her pain but right now he couldn't really do that unless he turned on Rogue and sadly, and even more selfishly he wasn't planning on doing that anytime soon, if ever.
All he could do was stare at her, until it hit him. Taken? No. He could not let Rogue think such a thought a moment longer it was wrong in many ways! "I'm not taken!" He shouted loudly. Almost too loudly, showing his panic. "Look, it's a long story but there is no romantic involvement here I promise!" Remy said more calmly putting his full attention on Rogue knowing in the back of his mine it could only end worse.
With that thought he turned back to Tawny on the floor, still wanting to reach out and hug her but knowing it would probably just make things worse. "Rogue, you're fine." He said still looking towards Tawny.
He stepped towards the girl, bending on one knee "look, I'm sorry. I should have told you. I thought you'd understand...." He said before standing again, honestly a bit worried to be near her in case she exploded, not to mention it killed him even seeing her upset.

Rogue frowned. When Remy said he was taken she did believe him. She didn't know why but she just couldn't imagine Remy lieing to her. Anyone else, sure. He had this... vibe about him, but she didn't think he'd ever lie to her. It didn't help clear up this situation though. If this girl wasn't his girlfriend, fiance, or wife, then who the hell was she? A friend, family, or room-mate would be happy for Remy finding some happiness - she still couldn't believe he wanted her, it was like a dream. This girl didn't look like Remy either, and he looked to young to be a father, so she couldn't be his kid. She rubbed her right temple completely confused as to who this girl was. She felt sorry for her, Rogue wasn't heartless and it did look like the girl was having her own meltdown, but jesus it was bugging her as to who this girl was.
She bit her bottom lip as she watched Remy go to the girl. Suddenly feeling like the outsider and third wheel, Rogue sat back down on her chair. With lack of anything to do and feeling very uncomfortable and a little unwelcome she decided to do the polite thing by finishing the meal Remy had cooked. She didn't want to leave without a clean plate, otherwise it would be very rude and Rogue just wasn't like that. As much as Rogue wanted Remy's attention she wasn't going to ask for it. One, the girl seemed to need him more, and Two, Rogue had been independant for so long that despite the bad feelings in her chest she was used to hiding her emotions and dealing with it all by herself. Sure, a cuddle would be nice, but after years with a life of lack of affection considering her past and ability, Rogue was used to having to comfort herself. It wasn't a big deal at this point. She was used to it. With her meal finished she quietly stood up and turned to the other two.
"Ah'll just be leavin' now ah guess. Thankya for dinner Remy. It was nice to meet ya."
She spoke softly, putting on her usual indifferent strong mask. After this long, Rogue still hid her weaknesses. She always seemed so tough and that nothing ever got to her but the truth was she was the exact opposite. She crouched down and pressed a brief soft kiss to his cheek before standing up. She looked down at the girl.
"Ahm sorry, for whatever ah did."
Rogue turned and began to make her way through the warehouse to the door. All the while she could hear Remy in her head trying to persuade her to stay, using all his cajun charm.

Remy was stuill trying to sort all of it out in his head before he could even try to act on it out loud. Part of him wanted to just shake Tawny for acting so spoiled but then maybe she really had a reason to be upset, the other part the more selfish part. Wanted to take Rogue and go, let Tawny sort this out on her own and come back when she had finished her dramatic session. But she had a hold on him he couldn't shake and he sighed deeply knowing he was going to fall for it and give in to her sad act. He always did. But this time would be different it had to be.
"You're parents ditched ya in a storm kid! Ah just brough a woman over for dinner! The two are hardleh linkable!" He said a bit taken back by Tawny's comment. Ok yeah he should have said something but damn. She was really reliant on him and scared and it was finally hitting him bit by bit.
He looked towards Rogue when she mentioned leaving and his heart sped when she began to do just that. Yes Tawny would win in her own little way but this wouldn't be part of it. It couldn't. Surly he could balance this life. He sighed and caught up to Rouge a small plan in mind. She had to understand what was going on.
"How long do ya gotta be touchin' someone before ya get their whole past?" He asked looking back at Tawny then Rogue "stop me when ya think ya've got it" he said before doing something he knew would annoy Tawny but Rogue had to see. He gently gripped the back of Rogues neck and pulled her in closer his lips hitting hers. It was amazing to feel her warmth even for a second before the tingle set in. But he kept on she had to see for herself to understand, how he found Tawny alone. Took her in raised her, perhaps she could even absorb the emotions to understand just what she was missing anything was worth to chance to keep her around.

Rogue turned to face Remy as he stopped her from leaving. A frown settled on her face when Remy asked her about her ability. Why would he want to know how long she'd have to hold on to get the entirety of someone's past? She glanced from Remy to the girl and then back to Remy again. She was about to tell him to get a person's entire past she would probably have to hold on until they are dead, but before she could even respond he had spoke again before pressing his lips to hers. Her brain told her to pull away, this was dangerous, but god the way his lips were massaging hers was absolute heaven. She forgot everything, feeling like just a normal girl as she flung her arms around Remy's neck, kissing him back passionately. Then it all started...
Remy's psyche grew even louder then before, although not enough to rival Carol's, and a whole new set of other Remy memories began to seep into her mind. She would have told him she got random memories when absorbing, but it seemed the fact he was thinking about what he wanted her to know at the forefront of his mind made it possible that her ability picked those out first. Her eyelids closed although her eyes kept moving, her head tilted back away from Remy as she was plunged into the memories Remy wanted her to see. She didn't know why it felt more in depth this time but she supposed she had never touched a person more then once in twenty four hours, especially having not touched anyone else, so that probably had something to do with it. She saw the girl, Tawny as Remy called her, at an orphanage, Remy adopting her, and how he had raised her. She wasn't sure how long he had raised Tawny but by the time she could get some kind of control to put the memories in the 'Remy box' in the back of her mind she was quite exhausted. She rested her forehead against Remy's chest as her hands loosened to gripping his shoulders.
"Jesus Remy... warn a girl when ya gonna do that."
She murmurred. At least she knew who the girl was to Remy now. An adoptive father. She understood the 'parents' line Tawny had mumbled to Remy more now. So, Tawny felt like her parents abandoned her, and since Remy had been on a date with her - she guessed he had never brought one home since he adopted Tawny - the girl must have felt threatened. Feel threatened. Rogue knew she had to say something to the girl, but what she had no idea. Sighing, she decided to wing it. She pulled away from Remy before kneeling down infront of the girl.
"Um, Tawny... Can ah call you Tawny? Ah won't say ah know how it feels to be left alone by loved ones, 'cos well ah ran away and then had a lot of other crap happen to me after, but ah can promise ya that ah ain't gonna take Remy away from ya. Ah mean, seriously, do ya think little old me could handle him on meh own? Ah've never had a female friend... Well, not one that didn't manipulate meh, but ah'd like to think we could be friends. Maybe ya could help meh handle him, after all, ya know him better. Ah only just met him today. Ah guess he's an idiot for not telling you ah'd be here, and inviting meh without tellin' meh about you, but ah guess when he's the kid, ya and meh are gonna have to be the adults."
Rogue rambled, not even sure if she was helping or digging herself into a bigger hole.

Remy was quite content with the fuzzy brain he had gotten from kissing her, so much so he didn't know she had let go until his lips no longer felt the warmth, he recovered a tad quicker than last time though he still felt dizzy headed, he could deal with that... If it meant lip time with Rogue a slight headache and some woozy feeling was perfectly fine! He wondered just got long it did take to pass out or even worse die from kissing her, that little bit almost made it seem worth it... He looked back towards Rogue and Tawny slowly coming back down from the minor high. His thoughts had to get off of Rogue, it was horrible timing and if he didn't stop he was going to get himself hurt.
He sighed a tad loudly and sat leaned against the wall watching the two, again he wanted to help but he wasn't sure it was such a good idea with Tawny mad at him, and anyway Rogue got a positive word out of her, so he would just sit back in fear he would only make things worse. If they could indeed get worse.
