Roaming the streets were always fun, especially at this time of day, it was almost noon and not many people were out and the ones that were, were either begging, ignoring him or setting up shop. Setting up shop, is exactly why he was here. He roamed around on his quiet feet, his grey fur ruffled as he wondered through the people, following his nose. If anyone gasped at seeing a wolf he'd just cross the street and avoid them, they didn't seem to find him a threat since he was simply walking swiftly around.
He nose had lead him towards this spot and he took shelter behind a trash can as he watched the man set up his cart. The sign on the side made Asher smile brightly. Hot Dogs! Wonderful! And free too! Well, free for him anyway.
Asher laid down, his tail twitching excitedly as he waited for the perfect moment, and it came when someone walked up to the man and placed an order, Asher wasn't paying attention to what the person was ordering but once the vender went to hand them their food Asher darted out from behind the trash can and jumped into the air, snatching the food from the mans hand and taking off in the other direction.
Asher ran till he no longer heard voices screaming, trying to catch up to him. He hid in an ally way laughing brightly as he ate his lunch, this life was just too easy!

Anna was not one to buy hot dogs at stands on the street, but after going all morning without eating anything, she was starting to get desperate. Her whole morning had been spent running countless inane errands for her boss who had insisted they all get done before lunch. It was days like this that made Anna realize why she was so ambitious to begin with. She would love that kind of power one day. It reminded her of the way her mother had always had people to do whatever she needed to get done. Anna knew she just had to stick this job out and she would be set. Working as a personal assistant to a top designer was after all the perfect place for her career to jump off of.
Her morning did not get any better when an honest to goodness wolf jumped out of what appeared to be nowhere and took her paid for food right out of the stand owner's hand. The owner started yelling and cursing up quite a storm while Anna simply stared at the empty space in front of her for a minute. With a simple glare, she tugged her coat a bit closer around her and turned on her heel. It would absolutely not do for some wild animal to run off with her lunch, not after the morning she had had. In fact, on any other given day, she most likely would have let it go and not run off to chase some crazed animal. However, now it was merely about the principle of the matter. Anna had never once not gotten her way before coming back to this city, and it was not the time to start.
Anna followed not the wolf itself, but the stream of people who clearly had seen it. It didn't take her long until she was turning to look into some abandoned ally way which made her cringe at all the dirt. Her hands went automatically to her hair to smooth any imagined frizz before he set her eyes on the eating canine.
"You. Do you have any idea what kind of morning I've had?" She declared in her most demanding tone. If anyone were to walk by they would see a woman who clashed with her surroundings and was attempting to scold a wolf. Not really the best bid for sanity all in all.

Asher could recognize the sound of the steps that followed, they had been following a while. His ears twitched at each step the person took as they got in the ally, sheesh they sounded pretty annoyed. The thought caused him to giggle inwardly. Oops, he annoyed someone.. Any other time he MIGHT care but, this food was unusually good. Asher continued to devour it down to one bite when he heard the voice.
He spun around, the last little bit hanging between his teeth. He tossed it up lightly and caught it, finishing it off with a smile visible, even for a wolf. He said up right and stared at the woman as he licked his lips clean. "Huh, no, do tell!" He said sarcastically. Was this woman really yelling at him? A wolf! She MUST be insane, but by the look at her she didn't even look like she belonged out here, let alone buying some mystery meat hot dog. Perhaps she had indeed escaped from some kind of mental ward. Hmm who knew.
"You seem bothered..." He said wrapping his tail around himself, as he watched her, wondering honestly if she was insane or just really that bothered, or maybe just that hungry.. Hmm so many possibilities..

Well, Anna could honestly say she had not thought she would get her food back. She watched with contempt as the wolf finished it. She let her hands fall to her hips and rest there as she glared with all the air of someone who was not usually disobeyed. However, when the wolf actually spoke, and it took Anna a moment to realize it was indeed the wolf who had spoken, her glare became a look of confusion. Anna managed to blink twice before she pulled herself back together. She knew the first sign that something was strange should have been the fact that there was a wolf in the city in the first place. The talking only fed into the strangeness that had seemingly engulfed her morning. However, Anna was not one to be shaken.
"Of course I'm bothered. You stole my lunch. If you have the power to talk I see no reason why you couldn't have procured your own lunch." She answered as sharply as she could manage. Meanwhile she inwardly was marveling at the fact she was having a conversation with a wolf. Or was it an actual wolf. Anna had never considered the fact that she wasn't the only person or animal in this case with strange abilities. In fact, it was probably the fact that it was such a wonder that kept her from simply screaming and turning tail to flee.
As she stared down the animal a short breeze carrying the chill of November brushed by her and she shivered slightly. Although her left hand remained planted on her hip, the right one raised in a small unconscious gesture as her scarf carefully readjusted itself. The hand lowered as Anna continued her glare. "The least you can do is apologize before I call animal control."

Asher stretched a little as he listened to the woman, unbothered as she spoke. She wasn't crazy, but she was a tad bit annoying, then again if someone had stolen his food, especially food that was as good as that he would have probably bitten the person, or worse! Food was defiantly a favorite of his, and he had no mercy towards anyone who messed with it. So he could kind of understand where she was coming from, and if he had a cent on him he might have even offered to replace the food... But that would have just taken the fun out of stealing it in the first place.
He laughed lightly at her threat "go on, call animal control! I can promise it will be followed by a psych van and some cops!" He said flicking his tail to the side. "See, I'll be human and long gone before they even get here. Then you're the psycho crying about a wolf, in the city! Who stole your hotdog then vanished in human form..." He sighed and shook his head "doesn't look good for you ma'am.."
He stood and ruffled his fur a little with a shake before sitting back down. "Whatcha doing eatin' that mush anyway? You should be thanking me! I saved your figure!" He jumped up and circled her playfully "and a nice save it was!"
He stood across from her, standing tall, adding drama to his next statement. "But, ma'am, if it's an apology you want... An apology for me acting on instinct and.. stealing to simply survive!" He lied sighing deeply, purposely being dramatic. "Then, I apologize! I should have just died! So you, could have a hotdog!"

Perhaps calling animal control wasn't the best idea after all. Thinking on it, and knowing that she was dealing with a human after all, made Anna give up on finding any revenge in that matter. Anna also found herself less inclined to call anybody now that she knew there were in fact others with abilities. Or at least one other. Anna lessened her glare slightly and tilted her head to merely observe the wolf and rethink her options.
"So you aren't a wolf. Well that changes things. At least before you were an animal who didn't know any better." If anything, Anna was more annoyed then angry by this point. She followed the wolf with her eyes as he circled her and made a slightly indignant huff at his comments. Anna loved being complemented, but if he though flattery would get him anywhere he was wrong. She was not in the mood to be teased by some wolf person thing. However, she let the comment slide as it pleased her vanity a bit. He was lucky that Anna almost agreed that she really had no business getting a hot dog instead of taking the time to eat something healthier.
"Died? You're being a tad over the top. I know dramatics when I see it." Anna said coolly. She had to give him credit for the well played out lie though. If Anna wasn't regularly deceitful and rather selfish, she might have fallen for it hook line and sinker. "Although, I respect your attempt to pull on the emotional heartstrings of the stupid rich girl." Anna said with the hint of a smirk starting to show up. It seemed to be easier to converse with someone who seemed more on her level as far as intelligence went. Far more entertaining then the insipid girls she worked with.

Asher grew more and more interested by this woman every second, she seriously just kept talking. Most would have either kicked him by now or tried to 'shoo' him away, ugh he hated that more than anything! Such an intelligent move running at a wild animal yelling shoo! And people wonder why they get mauled, even he wasn't one hundred percent beast and he would go at anyone who tried that stunt to him! Mix it with kicking and you're dead, and spray bottles, forget it!
"Dramatic? Maybe. But I was hungry. I almost felt a grumble.." He said looking down at his stomach. Grumbles were so annoying. Which is why they had to be stopped before they even had a chance to attack! Annoying things.
"I wasn't trying to pull at your heartstrings but, thanks if you think I was then, obviously I'd put on a wonderful performance! You got where I was going and you felt it! Admit it!" He said proudly. He tried to ignore the rich girl part, the last thing he needed was to start making those kind of jokes, then she really would start kicking and shooing.
He thought a moment and stood looking past her at the people who were glancing. "Allow me to save you a trip to the mental ward shall I?" He offered darting behind a dumpster for a moment.
He returned human, wearing the same things he had on the day before, changing clothes was for women and guys on desperate dates. Who needed that. He dusted off his jacket as he walked back towards her. "Better?" He asked with a small dramatic bow.

"A grumble? Dear me, what an absolute tragedy that would be." Anna spoke, not even trying to mask her sarcasm. She now dropped the rest of her glare since she found that she wasn't angry anymore. Now she was simply curious and mildly irritated by the fact she was still hungry. Anna made a side note to stop at a cafe later, one inside where no wolves would be stealing from her again. You wouldn't find her ever making that mistake again. Serves her right for getting food from a street stand, she should have seen that twist of fate coming.
"I definitely got where you were going, but it was only an acceptable performance at best." Anna responded with a slight upturn of her nose. It was easy for her to pull off haughty. She also wasn't about to mention that even though she had felt a bit bad for the animal, she held no such sympathies for the person. Anna was at the point where regular people meant little to her and were more of faces that passed by at irregular intervals. However, another with an ability was a different story and was also the reason she hadn't merely left yet. Anna hid it well, but she was thrilled to finally meet someone else who was stranger than she.
Anna nodded at the wolf's next sentence and waited patiently for him to come back from behind the dumpster. She also noted that people passing had been staring. She didn't care much what they thought, but she would rather not have to call her father and explain why she needed to be picked up from an institution. Not to mention she would certainly be fired after steeping foot in such a place. Designers may all be crazy, but they never got caught or treated for it.
Anna watched as the wolf, although now he was a man, reappeared. She had serious distaste for his clothes, but she had that for most people's clothes. She ignored it in favor of a question she was far more interested in. "When you shift, do your clothes also shift, or do you have to leave them somewhere?"
