I would ride on your shoulder
and look out on the world
pretending I was big and tall like you
When you were there to hold me
I never was afraid
you made me feel there's nothing I can't do
If I'd spread my wings to fly
when I was very small
I knew that you'd be standing by
To catch me if I fall.
You're my hero.
Chasing the monsters from my room
going on trips around the moon.
The one who's always been there faithfully
You're my hero
And cause you're my dad
I'm twice as blessed and lucky to be me.
As I kept on getting older we often disagreed,
but you let me find myself in my own way.
And it's funny, how just lately
I've come to recognize
How wise you are becoming every day
There's so much you've given me.
I hope I've made you proud.
You're everything a dad should be
and it's time to tell you now.
You're my hero.
You didn't have to say a word.
Your love was the message that I heard
Inspiring me to be all I can be.
You're my hero because you're my dad....
I'm twice as blessed and lucky to be me..
and look out on the world

Kiara stopped near the bench, having practiced the song on the way from the mansion doors to the bench. She sat down, looking into the sky. She sighed quietly. "Miss you daddy," she said quietly. She would dedicate that song to her father on the day of her upcoming concert. She had just under a month. That was long enough to prepare a bunch of Christmasy music. Anyway, they better not expect the same level of music that she'd pulled out before her previous concerts. The fire, then the intense therapy, had taken most of her attention. Then there was the move into the mansion with her uncle. Her agent had called when she had been in the med lab recovering from a power overload. Work didn't rest. And how would she explain the power overload to the press? Exhaustion might work, but... Nah. She'd end up using that a lot, given how her powers decided to work. Besides, in a month, she'd be completely recovered from this overload. She sighed and waved her hand over a falling oak leaf. She was Jonathan's girl, and he was her guy. Thinking about that made her smile. Her long red hair billowed out behind her as a breeze blew by. She closed her eyes as the wind blew over her face. She sighed happily. She had slept well again last night, and felt incredibly well-rested. She didn't even feel all that sore anymore. Walking around and other normal activities had stretched the soreness out of her body, but there were some places that weren't worked as often that would hurt if she bent wrong. That was to be expected though. An overload that knocked her out for four days was not going to go away without some lingering soreness.
She laughed quietly at her new giddy feelings. She'd never felt like this before. Why was that? Because no other boy had been able to understand her? Most likely. She knew her uncle would come asking if she was alright when he noticed how different she was feeling since the overload. But that was natural. You don't expect a girl to be completely giddy after having her powers overloaded.
She started humming a jazzed up version of Jingle Bells, thinking about how she'd make it interesting with more than just the sound of her voice. She experimented with syncopation and other rhythms, as well as changing up the notes a bit. Then she heard someone approaching. She turned quickly, hands balled up into fists and glowing blue. When she saw who it was, she relaxed and absorbed the energy back into her body. "Please don't come up behind me like that," she requested.
