* ANNE marie D'ANCANTO !
[/size]Full Name: Anne Marie D'Ancanto
Nicknames: Rogue ( She only lets Logan so far call her Marie, everyone else calls her Rogue since she doesn't divulge her name to anyone but Logan thus far )
Codename: Rogue
Age: Eighteen
Gender: Female
Birthday: 10th September
Species: Mutant
Orientation: Straight
Status: Single
Face Claim: Anna Paquin
Student/Professor/Occupation: Student at Charlies Xavier's School for Gifted Children
Which side are you on?: Xmen
Abilities: Rogue absorbs the life force, memories, and powers if a mutant of a person she comes into contact with ( skin on skin ), which creates a psyche of the person in her head. Thus far she doesn't have control, and so cannot touch anyone without using her power, and thus far she only keeps the powers of those she touches for a short period of time. It is said however, if she holds onto a person until they die, she could retain the powers permenantly. The longer she holds on the more memories and life force she takes, and the longer she retains the mutant's power.
Ability Limits: See above XD I got carried away
Character: Canon
Eyes: Dark Brown in colour, Oval shaped.
Hair: Bright Red with two white streaks either side of her face, length wise goes down to her waist, it is naturally straight and she often has it in a ponytail, and it tends to be somewhere between fine to volumptuous in thickness.
Body Type: Rogue has an hourglass figure, which is a shame since she cannot have skin to skin contact. She is stick thin, and is proud of her above size zero waist, curved hips ( which her adopted mother adamantly said they were child-bearing hips ), long legs, a generous bottom ( she is glad she isn't flat there ), along with a bust that isn't tiny but not huge like basketballs either.
Weight: Hm, I guess about 12 - 13 stone
Height: 5 feet 9 inches
Flaws: Due to the fact she was apparently born ( she was told by her adopted parents who said they were informed by the orphanage her biological mother dumped her at ) with her feet around her neck, and so needed constant massage with ointment to set them the right way. Her feet were straightened out, but sometimes when she looks at them she just knows they don't look normal like everyone elses.
Favorite: Her flame red hair. She does love the colour red. That, and her full lips.
GENERAL APPEARANCE---
Rogue is a very pretty girl. Everything about her does ooze a certain innocence, beauty, and southern girl impression. She has never wanted nor tried to be the super model type, and never wants to be. Rogue is a huge supporter of natural beauty, and barely wears make-up. Her clothes are often for comfort, and definately let other people know she has dressed for herself and does not need anyone else to approve of what she wears. She doesn't need anyone to approve what she is wearing, and doesn't dress to attract either now that she has her powers back. She of course makes sure she wears colours that don't clash, although considering she wears dark colours there isn't much of that happening anyway.
Wardrobe: Due to her ability, Rogue tends to cover herself completely from trousers or leggings, to long sleeved as well as polo neck tops or dresses, elbow and shoulder length gloves, and usually knee length boots - what can she say, she loves her Ugg boots and of course her black, silver, grey 'crocodile scale print', and red knee length boots. Rogue despite being a colour loving person, tends to dress in dark colours. This is due to the fact she has been shunned so much because of her ability, that and she took the cure which wore off, that she has ended up being self conscious, lacking self esteem, and has withdrawn into herself, making herself seem as invisable as possible. If she had her way she would wear vivid multiple colours, with tye dye and floral patterns, but alas it isn't meant to be, just yet. Still, she does keep her boots and a few clothes from her previous non-power life, although she doesn't wear them.
The Likes:
- Romance fiction ( whether novels or movies, although she prefers books. She also likes fantasy and supernatural fiction as well.
- Water. She looooves water, and with her skin being 'poison' she finds it very hard to find any time she can go in water without anyone else there.
- Animals. She is a huge fun of animals although her favourites have to be tigers, lions, leopards, wolves, domestic cats, domestic dogs, horses, and is definately fascinated by dinosaurs of the past, as well as wishes that phoenixes, dragons, unicorns, and pegasuses are real. Who wouldn't?
The Dislikes:
- Not being able to touch and those who take it for granted.
- Not being able to control her powers. She sees everyone not only controlling and advancing in their powers, whilst she is still stuck at the 'basic' level of her own powers with no control.
- Monkeys and their relvaties ( aka chimpanzees, orangutans, baboons. ) They creep her out.
The Fears:
- She will never be able to touch, nor will she be able to control her powers.
- Because she cannot touch, she fears she'll never find love ( let alone true love ) and will forever be alone.
The Hopes & Dreams:
- One day she'll be able to control her power.
- Owning a puppy and a horse - she has never had a pet.
Strengths:
- Despite her ability, being unable to touch and having so many psyches talking in her head, Rogue is still here and she is still sane. That is a proof of her strong character and inner strength.
- She is fiercely loyal, and although not having an 'active' power ( meaning a power she can actually use to attack such as Iceman's ice creation and manipulation ) she still fights for what she believes is right. She'll fight to the end, even if someday it means sacrificing her own life for the greater good.
- When Rogue cares, she cares with her whole heart. She is good right to the core, and has such love as well as passion in her heart, that when she puts her mind to something she'll do it. She is fiercely loyal and protective of those she cares for, and won't hesitate to do what needs to be done to protect them. Especially Logan.
- She is very curious, and so when she wants to find out something or something doesn't seem right, she'll do her best to find out what is going on. It does make for a good student since she'll research extensively for things, especially her homework.
Weaknesses:
- Her good heart - it can be a weakness as much as a strength. Because she cares with her whole heart and is so fiercely loyal as well as protective, this can be used against her. Such as blackmail to get her to do things she does not want to do.
- Curiousity. It did after all kill the cat, and not everyone can cover their tracks all the time.
- Naive, innocent, & pure - Due to the fact Rogue has had to become sheltered ( she was sheltered before her powers kicked in the first time but when her powers kicked in it made her become even more sheltered ) she can be very gullible, and doesn't tend to realise when someone is hitting on her or has interest in her romantically. With her being so niave and innocent, it can easily be used as a way to con her. She does tend to see the good in people a lot which isn't always a good thing.
- Due to not having an 'active' power per say, and because her power is so out of control, it is a liability. Especially if she is up against a mutant that has a powerful active power that even her Xmen trained fighting skills cannot escape her from.
GENERAL PERSONALITY---
There is a lot more to Rogue then just her ability - something a lot of people don't realise. She is a beautiful person on the inside. She has a pure good heart, that despite what she has been through has remained intact for the most part. She does try hard not to let everything get her down but between being kidnapped by Magneto to power his machine on Liberty Island, the cure wearing off, and unable to carry on a relationship with Bobby, it is hard not to be affected by it. Especially with her power. It isn't the most fun thing in the world to hear John, Bobby, Logan, and Wolverine in her head. Especially when they comment on her life. She is a loyal person, and even though things did not work out between her and Bobby, they do remain good friends. Once you are friends with Rogue she won't just give up on you. She hasn't given up on John by a long shot - then again he hasn't done anything wrong by her personally thus far. However once you hurt her - aka like Magneto did - you will find it is hard to get her to forgive you. She is quite a selfless person, and will often put down whatever she is doing to help those around her. She loves Logan like a father ( although admittedly she did have a crush on him during the beginning of their friendship ) and often seeks his approval. She trains with him, and is always eager to improve her fighting skill. It is a relief that Logan can heal from anything, so if any skin accidentaly touches she doesn't have to worry as much as she does with everyone else. Rogue is oblivious to flirting when it comes to it being done to her ( she can see it when it is happening to everyone else ), and doesn't share her name or her past openly with anyone. She hasn't even told Logan - although Charles Xavier did find out about a bit of her past through their one on one sessions. He is a telepath after all. She craves to find her biological family desperately, and wants to know why she was given to an orphanage. Rogue is a romantic at heart. She does love comedy as well, so can often be found watching comedy shows - especially whilst doing research or homework. She isn't a tidy person, although when she can't see the carpet of her dorm room she will tidy up. She isn't a pig. She doesn't leave left over food or cutlery in her room at all, so thats a plus. Rogue is a friendly person once you get to know her, but when meeting someone for the first time she can be quite standoff-ish, and when a person pushes the right buttons, her passionate firey nature does tend to come out to her defense. Due to her power, as well as staying at the X-manor so much, Rogue tends to feel suffocated, and does tend to long for adventure. She longs to be carefree.

GENERAL HISTORY---
Owen and Priscilla adopted Rogue when she was a month old, and raised her as their own. Born as Anne Marie, she also enjoyed the attentions of her Aunt Carrie, on her adoptive mother's side. Anna Marie was raised speaking colloquial English and French, common to the Mississippi bayou area. The commune's failed attempt to use Native American mysticism to reach the 'Far Banks' resulted in Priscilla's disappearance. Carrie took over Anne Marie's care, and in her grief at the loss of her sister, was a strict and authoritarian guardian. With the overwhelming grief of loosing who she believed was her mother ( and subsequently who she believed to be her father too ) along with the new suffocatingly strict life under Carrie's hawk-like eyes, Anne Marie could not bear it any longer and ran away from home, earning the name Rogue.
Not long after Rogue was approached by Mystique who sought her out on the advice of her precognitive friend Destiny. Mystique ultimately takes Rogue on as a daughter. At some point Rogue becomes close to a boy named Cody Robbins, and upon getting close she impulsively kisses him at which point her ability kicks in. Cody was left in a coma and Rogue is draumatised by the event. After that Rogue covers up every inch of her skin, unable to bare the thought it could happen again. In time, however, Mystique turned Rogue's loneliness, envy, bitterness, and despair into anger, thus recruiting her into the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants.
After Rogue's mutation emerged, Mystique began coaxing Rogue into taking part in her terrorist activities as a member of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. Rogue was initially not interested, wanting only a normal life, but after an incident in which she absorbed and knocked out the young boy named Cody when he dared her to kiss him, she seemed to give up on normality and began taking part in Mystique's plans.
During this period, Rogue and Mystique associated briefly with a mutant named Blindspot, whose power to erase the memories of others by touch somehow counteracts Rogue's mutation enough to allow them to make physical contact safely. Blindspot and Rogue become good friends, but when Mystique decided to sever professional ties with Blindspot, Blindspot erased all memory of her from both Mystique and Rogue in order to protect herself.[volume & issue needed]
When Mystique debuted her Brotherhood of Evil Mutants (Pyro, Blob, and Avalanche), Destiny advised her to keep Rogue out of the action, advice which proved important when several members of the new Brotherhood — including Destiny herself — were arrested and imprisoned. Rogue ultimately confronted Ms. Marvel on her front doorstep as she was returning home from grocery shopping and deliberately absorbed her powers. Something went wrong as Ms. Marvel fought too hard and too long. The transfer of psyche and all powers became permanent. The shock of absorbing such a formidable persona drove Rogue insane and she attempted to kill Ms. Marvel by throwing her off the Golden Gate Bridge. Unbeknownst to Rogue, Ms. Marvel was saved from the fall by the original Spider-Woman, Jessica Drew. Ms. Marvel was comatose for a short period of time before her memories without the emotional attachments were restored by Professor Charles Xavier of the X-Men. Rogue later felt tremendous guilt over the incident and it still haunts her to this day. However, she battled the Avengers as a member of the Brotherhood of Evil mutants using her newly acquired powers.
Later, with Mystique and Destiny, Rogue attacked Angel and Dazzler, but Rogue was overpowered by Dazzler. Rogue developed a grudge against Dazzler for her controllable mutation and her relationship with Angel of the X-Men. Mystique intended for Rogue to absorb Angel — the only X-Man whose identity is publicly known at the time — in order to learn the team's whereabouts but Rogue balked, afraid of the effect of absorbing a physical mutation like Angel's wings. Rogue defeated Dazzler, but was herself defeated by Power Man and Iron Fist, before fleeing; Rogue was defeated by Dazzler a few times before Dazzler is publicly revealed to be a mutant and goes into hiding.
She also battled the X-Men at the Pentagon.
The more Rogue used her mutant power, the more her mind became filled with fragmentary psychic echoes of the people she absorbed. Carol Danvers' psyche was nearly a completely distinct personality within her mind who would sometimes take over when Rogue's will was weak. It became harder and harder for Rogue to hold on to her own personality and she feared that her powers would drive her insane (unbeknownst to her or Mystique, the process was also helped along by Mastermind, who subtly exacerbated Rogue's already severe psychological distress as a means of revenge against Mystique. Desperate, Rogue turned to Professor Charles Xavier and the X-Men and asked for admission to the X-Men to learn how to control her powers. The Professor was unable to do a satisfactory psychic scan of her, due to the clashing human and Kree portions of her psyche. Still, Xavier's charity towards all mutants led him to welcome her into his home and the X-Men, regardless of his team having previously fought Rogue and in spite of the X-Men's own strong objections. The X-Men even threatened to disband themselves and leave the school should Rogue be accepted. It was only Xavier's argument that all mutants deserve a chance for redemption that prevented the dissolution of the X-Men. Immediately afterward, Rogue clashed with Carol Danvers, as Binary, who was unwilling to accept the idea of Rogue among her friends.
Her initial months with the team were rough as she was seen as a latent threat, a Brotherhood mole within the X-Men. When the team met up with Wolverine in Tokyo where he was preparing for his marriage to Mariko Yashida, he gave her a chilly reception—Wolverine having been a good friend and professional partner to Carol Danvers. However, after the rest of the team accepted Rogue, Storm and Wolverine were incapacitated by poison, and Rogue was forced to work with Wolverine in order to find the culprit. The plot was traced back to the second Viper and her lover, the Silver Samurai. Rogue nearly died during the battle by taking a prolonged laser blast from the Viper to shield Mariko, who had shown her genuine trust and kindness. Wolverine, after the battle and over Rogue's own objections, kissed her to transfer his healing powers to her. She had gained his trust and respect for her efforts to protect his fiancée.
Soon after, she gained the full trust of the rest of the team by again risking her life to save Colossus, who had been superheated by Pyro and then rapidly cooled. She absorbed Colossus' powers, leaving her in the same rigid, melted form as he was to allow the Morlock Healer to heal the damage done to Colossus.

ROLEPLAY SAMPLE---That dream had definately startled Rogue. Of course it wasn't just a dream. It had been one of Logan's memories - one she was sure he did not remember. It made her think his memories were still inside him, there was just some kind of block in his head that stopped him from remembering. For some reason that hadn't stopped her skin from absorbing it. There had been a heartbreakingly attractive man. She hadn't caught his name, but from the way he fought, and got into places, it was clear he was formidable. In the memory he had helped Logan when no one else could. It gave Rogue the clear impression that he was someone who was privy to secretive information all around the world. He was the most likely person who would know about William Stryker and what happened to his project. He might even know about 'X' and Adam. Rogue had come to a decision - she was going to find him.
Fortunately, she knew from the memory one place she could start her search. New Orleans. So, Rogue had gone to Xavier, told him she would be away for the weekend on a personal trip, and left. She had left a note for Logan - she had a feeling he would have tagged along or stopped her from going if she had talked to him face to face. She had rented out a simple rusty red toyota pick-up truck, with her duffel bag on the passenger seat, and drove out to New Orleans from Westchester. Rogue just hoped the guy wasn't as attractive as he had been in the memory. She may not be able to touch, and withdrawn, but she was still a woman who had been denied the ability to ever touch. She had hormones. Sighing deeply she shook her head as she turned on the radio. She listened as J-Lo and Pitbull blasted through the radio, filling up the truck. The song provided a decent enough distraction. She had to focus. She was doing this for everyone elses safety. She had to protect Logan, and she was damn sure that Adam was up to something. It just didn't feel right to have him infiltrate Xavier's mansion just to spy on the Brotherhood.
Before long she was in New Orleans, and she was feeling hungry, restless, as well as perhaps a little tired. Now she just had to find this guy. Where could he be in New Orleans? It was a big place. Rogue couldn't help but feel a little at home though - she had missed the south having been raised in Mississippi since as far back as she could remember. She still had the southern accent, although that was nothing compared to the Cajun accent she could hear going on outside the truck. She inhaled deeply before parking the truck, taking out the key, and stepping out of the truck. She grabbed her duffel bag, closing her door and then locked the door of the truck up. Rogue then padded round to the back of the truck, unlocked the boot, and shoved her duffel bag inside before locking it back up. With that done she looked around. Spotting a bar, one that she wouldn't doubt held unsavoury people, Rogue knew that would be the best place to start. Those type of places always had gossipers, as she had learnt bar hopping with Logan.
Rogue glanced at her apparel, making sure she didn't stand out. Black elbow length gloves, black thin polo neck t-shirt, black jeggings, black ankle length leather boots, and a black leather jacket. Yep, she was all covered up and would blend in. Her firey red and white hair was securely tied back in a ponytail. Without hesitation she crossed the street and entered the bar. Rogue took in the place's punters, trying to spot those who looked like they would tell her what she wanted to know. None seemed safe approaching, so she decided to approach the bar. The bartender should be able to help. Leaning against the bar, she waited until he had come to her before she began to speak. She didn't want to be rude and distract his attention from someone else. Especially since she did not want to start or be in some kind of bar fight. Logan would never let her live it down.
"Hey, ahm looking for a friend. Medium length brown hair, slim muscular build, stupidly attractive, used to wear some kind of trench coat..."
( ooc notes: ahm = i'm )
