* Lillian adele Byrns !
[/size]Full Name: Lillian Adele Byrns
Nicknames: Adele
Codename: Sunburst
Age: Twenty
Gender: Female
Birthday: August 4
Species: Mutant
Orientation: Heterosexual
Status: Single
Face Claim: Britt Robertson
Student/Professor/Occupation: College undergrad (photography)
Which side are you on?: X-Men
Abilities: Heliokinesis --
Adele is able to mentally manipulate solar energy. With this she can perform a special form of photosynthesis like plants do, create a personal gravitation field of sorts, generate an almost long-lasting energy for her to consume or use however she chooses, she can even control solar energies in other forms, not just raw energy. She is also fully capable of generating geomagnetic storms, solar winds, and bring on solar flares if she uses enough energy; she can also gather and release the energy in concussive blasts or beams in an offensive way, or release it in short, blinding or stunning bursts, etcetera.
- Spitfire -- She can gather collected solar energy and release it in concentrated projectile from her mouth. The energy secretes into her mouth when she so chooses it to, much like saliva does, and can spit it with varying degrees of force.
Ability Limits: Like many people who thrive off of caffeine and sugar, Adele thrives off of sunlight, as her ability to perform voluntary/involuntary photosynthesis provides her with about half of her energy, the other half being nutrients and sleep. Because of this she spends the majority of her time outside during the day, if she can; if there is no sunlight, she tends to be irritable and tired, often suffering from fatigue and migraines from lack of her ‘caffeine’. No sunlight also means she can’t use her ability. She has tried to absorb enough solar energy to keep her own energy up while storing enough in case of need, but it has so far not worked for very long.
Another limit of hers would be water. Heliokinetic ability is similar to Pyrokinesis in this way, in that while it is otherwise vital for her survival she cannot be doused in it from head to toe – if so her power is negated. As a result she will only swim if she knows she is one hundred percent safe, and she has made it a habit to shy away from decent quantities of water.
Adele is also not in complete and utter control of her ability, in that it will sometimes fail her if she cannot take in enough solar power, if she happens to be ill, or the obvious of she cannot be out in or find sunlight, etc.
Spitfire... As with her overall ability, she must be able to absorb enough solar energy to project anything, and even then if she has not gathered enough for the force she wants to project the energy, the action will not be as effective. Adele cannot activate her spitfire if her mouth and throat is ‘dry’, as is the same with saliva. She also does not have sniper-status aim when trying to projectile spit, although it can be pretty spot-on, depending on how long she aims.
Character: Original
Eyes: Almond-shaped, soft cobalt blue, framed by long eyelashes
Hair: Thick, golden-wheat blonde, falls to the end of her shoulder blades in a blend of layered waves and curls
Body Type: Rather petite, hourglass and athletic
Weight: One hundred twenty-three pounds
Height: Five foot two inches
Flaws: Her height. She also has a burn scar on her back at her waist.
Favorite: Her hands
GENERAL APPEARANCE---
Adele is, indeed, petite and curvaceous in figure, with a short torso and otherwise long arms and legs; she tries to exercise at least once a day, outside of course, so that her muscles are strong enough so that she can hold her own if a fight comes down to a hand-to-hand battle. She walks very much like she is gliding on air, her posture and height never changing like many peoples’ do when they walk, and she has relatively decent posture. Her hands are slender and graceful, steady enough to allow her to hold a camera suspended in the air, using only her arm muscles to hold it up for any given time. Her head is circular or oval-shaped, her facial structure rather soft and pretty, her lips full and often set in a neutral expression, unless she is smiling or laughing, of course. Her skin is a fair, peach-colored shade, with her cheeks being only slightly rosier than the rest of her flesh. It is otherwise flawless except for the burn scar on her back from where she gathered more energy than she could handle and ended up having it backfire on her and burning her.
Wardrobe: Adele generally wears whatever she deems comfortable enough for the day, whether this be jeans and a t-shirt or semi-casual dress wear such as a blouse and khakis; her overall wardrobe tends to fluctuate, although her individual style is a blend of vintage, sophisticated, and modern, occasionally with some other piece of clothing or accessory from a different style. More often than not, though, she will dress in a more professional manner of blouses of any kind and either dress pants of a sort, couple with shoes and accessories of her choice. At other times she may don shorts and a long-sleeved shirt or hoodie of some kind. It is really all a matter of the day’s events and her mood what she will be seen in.

GENERAL PERSONALITY---
Adele is, in general, calm, opinionated, and clever. She is usually quiet, choosing to keep to herself more often than not, although if you get her to join in on a conversation, she will definitely throw in her two cents, quite possibly even more than that. She can be rather charming, particularly when she wants to be, and couple with her intellectual and witty remarks she is quite capable of providing more than decent conversation. Adele prefers quiet and peace as opposed to frenzied mayhem and noise, and, being that she is also honest to the point of rudeness, will plaintively express her discomfort and annoyance. She suffers from frequent migraines, occasionally finding herself unable to function during some if her exposure to sunlight is prolonged. Such cases are probably the only times in which one may find it impossible to be around her because of how grumpy and unbearable she can be. Otherwise she is a friendly, polite and rather easy-going young woman. She hardly ever gets stressed, although when she does it is noticeable. While it can be difficult to make her angry, she can grow irritable at the drop of a hat; sort of a contradiction. But when one gets to know her, it becomes quite clear that she is a contradiction herself.
While she can come across as aloof and snobbish at times, Adele can be a bright and energetic soul to be around. Despite being a closed book, so to speak, she is generally friendly and easy to talk to toward most folks. She will often lose herself in a book or her picture taking if she is not careful, in which it can be difficult to draw her away to do something else. She prides herself in her levels of dedication and loyalty to those she respects and cares for, and she takes care in thinking through her actions and words in many situations. She has a remarkable eye for detail, a product of her habit of always having a camera glued to her eyes, and will often catch herself staring at other people and their features and watching them, which can prove to be kind of creepy, and so she attempts to tone this particular quirk down. She has a particular fetish for birds and feathers, and so she tends to have a feather-themed accessory of some kind amid her ensemble. Adele is, while at the same time that calm and level-headed woman she and others make her out to be, is about as stubborn as they come, a trait she inherited from both of her parents, and will not back down from a challenge if it is within her ability. Loyal, passionate, and a real spitfire when she opens up, she is indeed a fairly well-rounded young lady.

GENERAL HISTORY---
Adele was born in the heart of Bulldawg Country in the university town of Starkville, Mississippi to a then young couple that was Benjamin and Hillary. Mr. Byrns was just entering his last year of medical school, his new wife attempting to start her wedding planner business. The two came from a decent background as far as money went, and with Benjamin soon to be graduating and finding a job, they figured they would be pretty well off and could start a family whenever they wanted to. A PhD and in-progress DM degree and two years later, and Adele was on the way. Hillary’s pregnancy went smoothly, as well as the birth, although there were complications afterward with the baby’s lack of energy and breathing problems, unknown then but caused by the backfiring of her developing ability. No other problems arose after that, though, and so Benjamin and Hillary brought their little bundle of joy home two weeks later.
The next incident concerning Adele’s semi-dormant ability did not come around again until she was about four, when she was at a small birthday party for a friend. The children were all outside, as it was a clear-sky kind of summer day, playing around in the house’s pool and other various water toys. At the time the Byrns neither knew of Adele’s mutation, nor did they know water could pose a hazard to her. During the party Adele had been running around with the other children, coming in and out of the water and getting drenched; Adele had been involuntarily and unknowingly absorbing the sun energy, and what amount her body was not using or releasing back into the environment was building up, until it eventually backfired and caused a small solar flare, shorting out the electricity up and down the suburban block and disturbing radio stations. Other than that the party went on without issue, although a few days later Adele contracted flu like symptoms and her first migraine.
Over the next few years Adele grew more and more aware of the strange phenomenon that would take place around her and of how tired and ill she would become the more time she spent indoors. Eventually she brought the happenings to her parents’ attention. Benjamin and Hillary, having witnessed more than a few of these incidents, researched other similar phenomena. They kept the research as a secret among themselves, telling their daughter only as much as they knew, that she had all of the signs of having the X gene for mutation and they were looking further into it.
While Adele continued on through school, excelling in her classes and studies and looking forward to college upon entering high school, her parents discovered Xavier’s – or rather Xavier’s found them. It was during a school day, and so Adele came home from volleyball practice to two representatives of the School for Gifted Youngsters waiting with her parents.
Heliokinesis – Adele breathed and manipulated solar energy. The representatives suggested enrollment so that she could understand and learn to control the ability. It was an opportunity that they would be unwise to refuse in light of what Miss Byrns could do and the possibility of her harming herself or others.
The next year – Adele’s senior year in high school – she applied for the college nearest to Xavier’s. After graduation she moved to New York, making the trip north with her mother, who flew back to Mississippi once her daughter was settled in and would be alright.
College and the X-Men. Needless to say she settled in quite well.

ROLEPLAY SAMPLE---This was a mistake. A horrible mistake – particularly on her employer’s part.
Then why was she here? She had hardly any experience in this line of work, much less the experience that was required for this particular case. She was a veterinarian, for God’s sake. She had no reason to even be affiliated with such circumstances. And if it hadn’t been for her job she wouldn’t even be here.
There were animals that needed her right now. Important animals. And yet, here she was, almost running to get to the interrogation room in time.
Her heels clacked angrily on the tiled floor, reflecting her mood nicely. Her breath came out in short pants as she rushed to her destination. From the operation room to the interrogation room; what a nice transition. One she did not like. But one that – maybe, if she performed as was expected of her – may just pay off. So she hoped.
In her musings, the woman nearly missed the door. She almost slipped on the smooth footing, but fortunately regained her balance before she could crash into the room. Glancing at her watch, she realized that she should’ve been there long ago. What apparently could not be understood was the fact that she had already scheduled reconstructive surgery on a young dog’s hip bone. As she struggled to open the door and keep the thick file in the crook of her arm. And all at the same time keeping a steaming cup of black coffee in her hand.
“I am terribly sorry for my delayed absence,” she said as she slipped into the threshold, immediately setting the file and mug down on the metal table. “I had a pressing matter in the form of one of the officer’s dogs.” She promptly straightened and smoothed the creases in her blouse, even if there were no such blemishes, and tucked stray, frazzled curls of dark mane back behind her ears before even glancing up from her busy work. Her eyes slid down into a narrowed, confused expression at what she saw. The young man sitting handcuffed to the chair hardly looked like the killing type.
But what did she know? She was a veterinarian. And one who had sadly accepted this task that had already become grueling.
Remedy let out a breath. And pressed on. “But I’m here now, so let’s get down to business.” She opened the intimidating case file. It was time to get to work.
