* REMY etienne LEBEAU !
[/size]Full Name: Remy Etienne LeBeau
Nicknames: Le Diable Blanc, Cajun, Gumbo (courtesy of Wolverine) and Swamp Rat (courtesy of Rogue)
Codename: Gambit
Age: Twenty-Six
Gender: Male
Birthday: November 16th
Species: Mutant
Orientation: Heterosexual
Status: Married
Face Claim: Taylor Kitsch
Student/Professor/Occupation: Thief
Which side are you on?: X-Men
Abilities: Through direct skin contact, Gambit possesses the ability to tap into the energy contained within an object, transforming it into kinetic energy, and throwing the object in question at his enemies, which explodes with concussive force. He prefers to 'charge' smaller objects, because they are easier for him to throw, and don't take as long to charge. That being said, should he choose to charge larger objects, the force that would result from the explosion would be immense. Gambit can also accelerate an object's kinetic energy, as opposed to simply converting it, which he does with great skill with his bo staff, harnessing enough energy to destroy a house with the object.
Gambit also possesses a hypnotic charm, which was put to great use during his days as a member of the Thieves Guild. This ability allows him to charge the kinetic energy within a person's mind, giving him a subtle influence over them, compelling them to believe what he says, and agree with him.
Due to his control over kinetic energy, Gambit also possesses superhuman agility, as well as superhuman dexterity. Because of the kinetic energy charged within his own body, even the most powerful telepaths can't access his mind. This power also causes the abilities of touch based mutations to become neutralized.
The items that are normally found in his possession are his six foot long telescoping titanium staff, which is semi-flexible, and can be retracted to a length of three foot to be strapped to his belt for concealment.
Ability Limits: Gambit restricts himself to charging small objects only, and for that reason always has a deck of cards in his possession, which he charges, and explodes with the force of grenades. Aside from the effect his kinetic energy has over the minds of others, subtly influencing them, Gambit cannot charge living animals and humans. Timing is his greatest setback, for he can be attacked within the time it takes him to charge an object, as a lot of his concentration is required to manipulate kinetic energies, and therefore he is distracted when attempting to do so. As well as that, the influences of his hypnotic charm when used on telepaths, and more powerful minds, are useless. His ability to neutralize touch based mutations was taken when an operation was performed on him by the mutant geneticist, Nathan Essex, aka Mr. Sinister.
Character: Canon
Eyes: Narrow eyes, which are tinted a spectacular shade of ruby red.
Hair: Shoulder-length, shaggy brown hair.
Body Type: Due to the unique acrobatic fighting style he's developed, Gambit sports an athletic build.
Weight: 178 lbs
Height: 6'
Flaws: Because of the circumstances under which he was abandoned as an infant, Gambit is very uncomfortable with people making prolonged visual contact with his ruby red eyes.
Favorite: Gambit is quite proud of his smile, and the effect it has on those around him in combination with his hypnotic charm.
GENERAL APPEARANCE---
The most notable feature Gambit possesses, which everyone in close proximity quickly notes, is his ruby red eyes, the basis of his nickname 'Le Diable Blanc'. Though not fond of them, Gambit opts to wear a dark top-hat, dipped over his face to such an extent his eyes are either covered completely, or in shadow. His hair is a dark shade of brown, stretches to his shoulders, and is often scraggly and shaggy in style. Despite the fact the Cajun takes a lot of pride in his appearance, he intentionally keeps his hair messy. He stands at an incredible height, and possesses an athletic build, due to all his travels, and the fighting style he has developed over the years. Gambit is certainly attractive, especially with his think Cajun accent. The worst part is his awareness of this fact, often being called a pretty boy by those who don't notice his unusual eyes. Not being a great lover of beards, he keeps himself clean cut at all times.
Wardrobe: Gambit clings to his trench coats like a security blanket, refusing to go without them unless indoors, and in the heat. He has a similar attitude to his hats, but for reasons relating to insecurities, more so than attachment. The Cajun takes just as much pride in his physical appearance, as he does in his apparel, often opting for suits consisting of a dark purple, almost black shirt, along with a black vest, and black pants to top it off. The combination of black and purple is certainly Gambit's trademark. He has been known to wear jeans, t-shirts and leather jackets as well, but not often, finding them to be too common for someone as physically appealing as himself.

GENERAL PERSONALITY---
Outwardly, Remy appears charming, confident, suave and flirtatious with an air of mystery about him. Gambit has an uncanny ability to talk himself out of any and every situation, which is employed quite well in the presence of a pretty woman. He is certainly the kind of man women want to be with, and men want to be... or beat the hell out of. No matter how dangerous a situation he is placed in, Gambit is unable to take it seriously, treating everything as a joke, and poking fun at his fellow X-Men, but always to lighten an otherwise serious mood.
It isn't all fun and games with Gambit though; he does have a temper, and a big mouth, that has landed him in trouble with the likes of Wolverine and Cyclops in the past. He is also vain to the point of arrogance, aware of his good looks, accentuating them and bragging about them. He can also be somewhat protective of the women in his company, and would willingly put his own life at risk for them, particularly Rogue, whose safety means the world to him. He keeps his past completely where it belongs, in the past, and at the back of his mind, fearing he'll lose the newfound friends he's gained because of it.

GENERAL HISTORY---[all my information was taken from MARVEL WIKIA]
Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, as an infant, Remy LeBeau was abandoned by his birth parents in a hospital due to his ruby red eyes. However, he was soon kidnapped by members of the Thieves Guild, and placed in the care of a gang of street thieves, who raised him to be a highly adept and efficient thief. At the age of ten, he attempted to rob the man who would become his adoptive father, leader of the Thieves Guild, namely Jean-Luc LeBeau. As a result he was taken under the man's wing, and welcomed into his family. To instill peace between the warring factions of the Thieves Guild and the Assassins Guild, Remy was contracted to marry good friend Bella Donna Boudreaux. As a result of the objections of Boudreaux's brother, Julien challenged Remy to a duel, in which the latter came out victorious, killing Julien in an act of self-defense.
However, Remy was ex-communicated for his actions, forced to abandon his new wife, and banished from New Orleans so the two rival factions could continue to maintain peace by not breaching the non-aggression pact. Remy ended up wandering the world, utilizing his skills as a thief with the aid of his powers. It was around this time that Remy was acquainted with Sinister, who agreed to remove some of Remy's brain tissue so he could better control his powers. Now indebted to Sinister, he agreed to assemble a team known as the Marauders to inadvertently bring about the massacre of the Morlocks. In his attempts to bring an end to the violence, Remy was almost killed by Sabretooth. Still, the Cajun managed to save at least one of the Morlocks, but forever carried the guilt of what his actions brought to the group as a whole.
Remy soon encountered Storm, a member of the X-Men, and as a result of the help he offered her, she recommended him as a member of the faction to Professor Charles Xavier. Having been ostracized from every group he became a part of, Remy chooses to keep to himself, never speaking about his past, the Thieves Guild, or what befell the Morlocks because of him. Despite being a member of the team, Remy is unable to follow orders, preferring to work alone for fear of putting someone else's life in danger, especially a certain Southern Belle he encountered upon arriving at Xavier's School For Gifted Youngsters.
