Why would they fit into Professor X's life right now? he's really got no choice at present as to whether he gets to deal with her or not. The professor is her legal guardian and her uncle.

Why would they fit into Professor X's life right now?
She's the "trump card" of the branch of the Vatican which calls itself the "Sword of the Church;" given her abilities and strategic skill, Heinkel isn't someone anyone in the right minds would want as an enemy. The Professor may want to look into making her an ally before she meets up with the Brotherhood, as it's highly possible that she might find their aims to be better fitting with her job description - if Charles doesn't get to her first, that is.

I like the idea of Xavier having a niece, and someone to be personally responsible for. (: I look forward to RPing with a family member of Xavier's!

I think that Heinkel would be an awesome addition to the family, and I would like to see how she would react to Xavier's mind talents.
