She had arrived the night before, scared out of her wits and filthier than a mangy dog one would find on the streets. She still smelled the smoke in her hair and all over her clothes. She'd washed them twice, but the smell wasn't disappearing. She had hid in the room they'd given her and cried until she had no more tears, waited a little longer, and cried some more.
However, sometime during the day, she had passed out from exhaustion and fell asleep on her bed, only to wake up now to darkness. She cried out, frightful that she was back 'there' again, but as she gazed out the window, she knew she was safe. A low, long growl from her belly pulled her off the bed and down the hallway, where the kitchen was supposed to be. She had gotten a tour of the facilities yesterday morning, after she had unpacked.
She smiled as she entered the big area, her hands prying open the freezer and getting out a couple hot pockets. She smiled as she thought about how she and her mother would share these things... Did share.. A frown fell across her face as she put them into the microwave, setting the heat and timer with her own ability.
Her other hand flicked on the countertop radio that was across the room, it moving and twisting until she found the right station. For a little while, she danced about in her cloth shorts and light green tank top, unafraid to bear her recent bruises and scars from her ordeal since nobody was around now. Her long, washed and combed hair swung peacefully with her as she spun to soft, slow classical music.
However, the footsteps of another entering startled her, and as her anxiety rose, she suddenly lost control of what her powers did. The radio screeched and the microwave overloaded as she freaked out, and then suddenly all lights flickered on then off in the building. She dove beneath the table, frightened by her own actions and by being startled.
"I'm very sorry.. I didn't mean to do that.. I didn't, really.. Please don't be mad..[/color]" she rambled from her spot under the table, her eyes fixated on the legs and feet of her disturber. "You just.. Scared me a little, thats all..." she said apologetically as she shivered in her hiding spot, very reluctant to come out. This reminded her so much of her childhood days, hiding from her father underneath the table only to be dragged out by her hair and beat black and blue. For just a moment, she pondered his whereabouts before going back to thinking about who just could be her intruder.
